La Paz, February 20 (RHC-teleSUR) -- Bolivian President Evo Morales has a 76 percent approval rating amongst Bolivians, according to an IPSOS survey released Wednesday.

This figure surpasses the support Morales received in presidential elections held last October, where the the president was re-elected with 61 percent of the votes.

The IPSOS poll also revealed that Morales' support is strong throughout the country, even in the Santa Cruz department, which had traditionally been a stronghold for opposition politicians, where Morales registered 74 percent support. The president had the strongest backing from the Pando department with 84 percent support.

A separate survey conducted by the Association of Political Communication last week found that Evo Morales was among some of the most popular presidents in the world.
