Santiago de Chile, April 2 (RHC)-- Chilean President Michel Bachelet announced that she won't be attending the upcoming Summit of the Americas in Panama on April 10th and 11th, and that instead, she will stay in Chile to personally coordinate assistance to those affected by severe floodings over the past several days.
President Bachelet made a stop in her political agenda to visit the communities affected by the floods, which thus far have left 23 people dead, 57 missing and more than 22 thousand affected.
The Chilean head of state announced Wednesday that she had instructed her cabinet members to work hard non-stop toward the country's full recovery.
