Moscow, July 7, (RHC), – Russia says it has not changed its position regarding the necessity of contribution of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the resolution of the crisis in his country.
The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed in a telephone conversation with US President Barack Obama on June 26 that Assad should be involved in any solution to the ongoing conflict in Syria.
The remarks by the Russian spokesman came one day after the White House said in a statement that it is important to form a new government in Syria without Assad.
