Caracas, July 17 (RHC)-- More than 1,000 teachers from Venezuela and invited guests from other countries are meeting in Caracas for the National Pedagogical Congress. Among other issues, the teachers are discussing the quality and sovereignty of Venezuela's educational process.
Speaking at the opening session, Cuba's Deputy Minister of Education Rolando Forneiro said that education in Latin American and Caribbean countries should assume the task of preventing potential or actual attacks on the system.
The Cuban deputy minister also said that one of the agreements of the event should be a continuation of teacher preparation and stressed that the curriculum changes, infrastructure, textbooks and programs are very important, but the systematic improvement of educators is vital.
