Venezuelan Minister Insists on Presidential Dialogue with Colombia

Caracas, September 5 (RHC-PL), -- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez insisted on the pertinence of a dialogue between President Nicolas Maduro and Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos, in order to find a solution to the border crisis.

Rodriguez posted on her Twitter account that her government was willing to discuss the situation on the border, where tensions have risen after Caracas’ decision to close the border in an attempt to fight drug trafficking and paramilitary movement.

Rodriguez added that they will insist on the discussion about border crimes and the displaced to Venezuela as a consequence of the internal conflict in Colombia.

She said that the Venezuelan government will request compensation for displaced Colombian victims and the Venezuelan state.
