Asunción, September 16 (PL-RHC)-- New forces continue confirming their presence in a high school march on Friday to demand quality education in Paraguay as the Government calls for dialog.

The late comers are movements from university centers, whose leaders said they will join the organizers of public and private colleges not only in this capital but also in other Paraguayan cities.

Students from the faculties of Architecture, Political Sciences, Sociology, Law, Engineering and Philosophy of the National University of Asunción are using social networks to confirm their decision and urge other sectors to join the protest.

Teachers' unions, professors of the private sector and students' relatives will also go to the march, aware of the importance of expressing their concern about the low level of education in this country.

Quality public education with equity for all Paraguayans is a general demand of high school protesters, who have been calling for interrupting classes while they sit on the floor.

They also demand the government to invest seven percent of the gross domestic product in the educational sector. School lunch for students with double school sessions in state-run schools and retirement to teachers in the private sector.

Minister of Education Marta Lafuente said the government is willing to maintain a channel of dialog with the young organizers of the protest.

Lafuente met with President Horacio Cartes, who gave her instructions to arrange the talks and listen to the students' demands.

The minister announced a plan through 2030 with clear targets to increase investment and, above all, favor the teachers' training so that all students have the best conditions to do successful studies.
