Santiago de Chile, September 17 (RHC)-- In Chile, one million people have been evacuated and at least five people have been killed after a powerful 8.4-magnitude earthquake shook northern and central Chile Wednesday evening. Authorities issued a tsunami alert following the quake, which caused flooding in coastal areas. Fifteen-foot waves struck the hard-hit coastal town of Coquimbo. According to reports from Santiago de Chile, dozens of after-shocks have shaken the area and hundreds of thousands are without electricity.
