San Salvador, October 13 (RHC)-- In El Salvador, leaders of departments and municipalities from the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) asked General Secretary Medardo Gonzales to continue his administration in order to consolidate the transformations taking place in the country.
With a view toward internal elections that will take place next November 22th, FMLN members pointed to the party's remarkable achievements during Gonzales' leadership.
During a press conference in San Salvador, FMLN leaders said that during the present administration, an historic turn of events took place with the 2009 presidential elections and the defeat of the Republican Nationalist Alliance, ARENA, which ruled for more than 20 years.
They also referred to the importance of having a vanguard movement in El Salvador to address the economic, social, and security challenges that the Central American country currently faces.
