Ankara, October 20 (RHC)-- Turkish authorities have identified a new suspect in the recent deadly bombings in the capital, Ankara, who also happens to be the brother of a suspect in a similar attack in Suruç, southern Turkey, back in July.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's office confirmed in a statement on Monday that one of the bombers in the Ankara bombings has been identified as Yunus Emre Alagöz, the brother of Sheikh Abdurrahman Alagöz, who is believed to have been behind another attack on a border town on July 20, which claimed the lives of 35 people.

According to the statement, a second alleged suspect in the October 10 Ankara bombing, which killed 128 people, most likely entered the country "from a southern neighbor to carry out the attack."

Images captured by surveillance cameras had earlier showed Yunus Emre near the capital's main train station, the site of the attack, before it took place.

The two brothers had joined Daesh terrorists in neighboring Syria and Iraq last year. They were both on a police wanted list, which has fueled suspicions of negligence on the part of the Turkish government.

Telephone records provided by the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) captured hints of planned attacks by the two brothers in a conversation between Yunus Emre, who was in Syria at the time, and another one of his brothers.

Both bombing attacks targeted crowds of activists and pro-Kurdish members in the country. The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) says the death toll from the attack in Ankara stands at 128.
