Washington, December 5 (RHC)-- The Pentagon has opened all combat roles in the U.S. military to women.
U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter announced the shift at the Pentagon in Washington. It overturns the longstanding policy of restricting women from holding combat positions, even though they have effectively served in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.
