Brasilia, December 19 (RHC-PL) -- After the deferral to 2016 for the analysis of the request of his dismissal, the leader of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha will seek support to speed up the political trial against Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

Parliamentary spokespeople confirmed that Cunha called a meeting of bloc leaders for Monday, with a view to discuss the next steps, after the Federal Supreme Court (STF) established the rules for this case and canceled what had been done so far.

The top legislative authority highlighted that he would comply with the decision by the STF, which determined to resume the trial against the head of State for considering the selection of the special commission members without the instruction of the party leaders unconstitutional.

The top leaders of the Supreme Court also agreed that the vote of the members of that council should be open and not secret, as it was last week.

For the president of the lower chamber it was not clear what would happen with the lists made to designate the members of that council. Thus, he said, he would hold talks with the representatives of the political groups to define the work to be done.
