Asunción, December 22 (teleSUR-RHC)-- Bolivian President Evo Morales has called on member countries of MERSOCUR to join together to ward off the destabilizing effects of the world financial crisis. Speaking at the Presidential MERCOSUR Summit in Paraguay on Monday, Morales warned “international markets cannot be trusted” and that countries whose economy depend on primary materials are particularly vulnerable. He argued that price manipulation and gauging are strategies of a Western economic war “to widen international geopolitical control” over Latin America and undermine the socialist gains in the region.
