WHO Decides to Keep Up Anti-Zika Global Warning

New York, Mar 10 (RHC) The World Health Organization has decided to maintain the global alert for Zika Virus, based on confirmed evidence linking the disease to cases of microcephaly and other neurological disorders being reported in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In the alert, WHO Director, Margaret Chang, says contracting the Zika infection during pregnancy has severe consequences for the fetus, for in addition to microcephaly, there are reports of other damages to the baby's brain and miscarriage.
