Havana, July 27 (RHC)-- Congratulatory messages continue to come in for the 63rd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks -- commemorated yesterday, July 26th.
Cuba received messages of solidarity from Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Media sources in Mexico highlighted today the celebration ceremony held in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus, presided over by President Raul Castro.
Digital versions of La Jornada and Excelsior newspapers have published news stories related to the commemoration. La Jornada highlights the views expressed by the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Machado Ventura, who delivered the main speech, saying that Cuba will introduce whatever changes are necessary to consolidate socialism.
