Havana, November 29(RHC)-- Former King of Spain Juan Carlos arrived Tuesday in Cuba to attend a mass rally at Havana's Revolution Square as a posthumous tribute to Revolution leader Fidel Castro.
The Spanish media reported that this is Juan Carlos' second visit to Cuba, his first time being in November of 1999 to attend the 9th Ibero-American Summit in the Cuban capital.
Juan Carlos, who reigned as King of Spain from 1975 up until 2014 when he abdicated in favor of his son, Felipe VI, also represented his country at the signing ceremony of the peace accord between the Colombian government of President Juan Manuel Santos and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FAR) on September 26 last in Cartagena de Indias.
