Havana, December 27 (RHC)-- A tribute to Fidel Castro on January 1st at Santiago de Cuba's Santa Ifigenia Cemetery -–the revolutionary leader's final resting place-- will be the highpoint of activities celebrating the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
Communist Party leader in Santiago de Cuba Lázaro Expósito explained that the homage paying ceremony will start at midnight on December 31st, during the traditional Flag Celebration, which will be dedicated this year to the eternal Comandante en Jefe of the Cuban Revolution. He added that the ceremony will take place at the same venue, where Fidel announced back in 1959 the defeat of the Batista dictatorship.
Residents of the eastern Cuban province, representing the entire people, will pay tribute to their indomitable leader, who left behind an ever-lasting legacy of altruism and patriotism for the present and future generations of Cuban to follow.
