Madrid, January 23 (RHC)-- The Crown Prince of Spain, Felipe de Borbon, visited the Cuban stand at the Madrid Tourism Fair FITUR 2014. Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero and the island's ambassador to Spain, Eugenio Martinez, welcomed the Prince of Asturias to the Cuban exhibition on Wednesday, where Cuba's tourism offer is showcased.

Marrero briefed the Prince about some interesting aspects of the exhibition, among them the presence of Jose Castelar aka Cueto, a cigar maker who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest Habano cigar.

Spain is one of the most important tourist markets for Cuba, although the incoming number of tourists and revenues has suffered a contraction in the last few years, due to the economic crisis in that European country.

Nearly 9,000 representatives of companies from 165 countries are participating in the 34th edition of FITUR in Madrid.
