Havana, April 1 (RHC)-- Cuba's National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) issued a statement, expressing solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and denouncing attempts by the Organization of American States (OAS) to invoke the Inter-American Charter against the South American country.
The statement read: “Once again, the Yankee Ministry of Colonies violates the sovereignty of one of our own, the Venezuelan people, but once again the voice of dignity was raised to defend independence and the self-determination of a country, where human rights have been expanded and strengthened over the last two decades.”
The ANAP statement notes that with this latest aggression, the imperialists are attempting to undermine the advance of progressive forces and social movements in our hemisphere.
Cuban campesinos issued a call on organizations of small farmers, indigenous peoples, and farm workers around the world to express their solidarity with the people of Venezuela, in the face of this new, disgraceful aggression by the OAS, orchestrated by U.S. imperialism.
