United Nations, April 19 (RHC-PL)-- At the United Nations General Assembly, Cuba has urged political will from member states to mobilize the necessary financial resources toward the successful implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Speaking at a high-level meeting on the agenda funding, Cuba's permanent representative Ana Silvia Rodríguez urged facilitating development efforts and the much-needed flow of resources by avoiding the imposition of preconditions on developing countries.
The Cuban diplomat called on industrialized nations to strengthen development assistance and pointed to some prioritized sectors, including technology transfer, capacity building, financial assistance and North-South cooperation.
At the high-level meeting, called for by the President of the UN General Assembly Peter Thomson, the Cuban diplomat also urged the promotion of a multilateral trade system that is open, transparent, inclusive, non-discriminatory and equitable.
