Havana, April 22 (RHC)-- Cuba has made impressive achievements in special education and is making very good advances towards inclusive education, said María Machicado, representative of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund.
She also recognized that, thanks to the development of the different special teachings in the nation, students are accepted, promoted and developed to their full potential in society.
For the past two years, UNICEF has been supporting the Ministry of Education and the National Sports Institute with the National Inclusive Football Tournament in the Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus. The event includes athletes from basic and special secondary education throughout the country, which shows that children with different abilities and special educational needs feel better when sharing in integrated spaces.
