President Raúl Castro Receives President of Seychelles

Havana, April 28 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raúl Castro met Thursday with his counterpart from the Republic of Seychelles Danny Faure, who is here on an official visit.

During the exchange, the two dignitaries reviewed the state of bilateral ties, which they termed as 'satisfactory' and underscored both governments' determination to strengthen cooperation links. They also touched on international issues.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Macsuzy Mondon, designated minister and minister of Local Government; Claude Morel, secretary of Foreign Affairs, and Aude Labaleine, secretary of state for Presidential Affairs.

Participating on the Cuban side were Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and Rogelio Sierra, minister and deputy minister of Foreign Relations, respectively.

Prior to his visit with the Cuban head of state, the Seychelles president paid tribute to National Hero José Martí at the Revolution square and held talks with Parliament President Esteban Lazo, with whom he reiterated the gratitude of the government and people of The Seychelles for Cuba's contribution to the development of the African Union nation, located in the Indian Ocean.
