Havana, May 6 (RHC) - President Raul Castro received on Friday the visiting head of state of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, who is on an official visit to Cuba. The two presidents held talks at the Palace of the Revolution here in Havana.
Following the official reception and talks, President Raul Castro decorated Correa with the Jose Marti Order, the highest Cuban award granted foreign personalities.
President Rafael Correa said his granting of the Jose Marti Order served to cement the ties of brotherhood between Cuba and Ecuador, as the two nations continue in their efforts to build, he said, the common greater continental homeland.
President Correa had arrived on the island on Thursday, going first to the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, where he paid tribute to National Hero José Martí and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro,
