Pinar del Rio, July 26 (RHC-PL)-- Cuba reiterates its unconditional solidarity with Venezuela and calls for respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of that nation, stated Cuban Vice President José Ramón Machado Ventura.
During the speech for National Rebellion Day in Pinar del Rio, he said: "Those who try to give lessons of democracy and human rights from outside, must take their hands out of that nation, it is only up to Venezuela and its people, without intrusion, who are in charge of bringing a solution to their internal problems."
He stressed that in recent weeks, interference and destabilizing actions against Venezuela and the government of Nicolás Maduro have increased, joined by Washington's threats to impose economic sanctions against Venezuela.
Likewise, he considered "despicable" the action of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, when appearing before a committee of the U.S. Senate a few days ago, in support of sanctions against Venezuela.
He also rejected the rumors that point to Cuba as a possible mediator in the internal conflict the South American nation is undergoing.
