Harare, February 12 (RHC) -– Cuba and Zimbabwe on Tuesday vowed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of health and education, during a meeting in Harare between Cuban Ambassador Elio Savon Oliva and Minister of State Simon Khaya Moyo.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat expressed the Caribbean country's keenness to expand cooperation in the areas of health and education.
"We talked about the possibility of increasing cooperation in the fields of health, primary and secondary education as well as tertiary education," he told reporters soon after the meeting. "There is also potential in tourism and this is an opportunity we want to explore."
Ambassador Oliva also said Cuba was ready to increase the presence of its doctors in the northeastern African nation, as part of the health agreement signed with the government of Zimbabwe.
