Havana, December 1 (RHC-ACN)-- The people in central Villa Clara province marched Thursday evening from the Martí library where late leader Fidel Castro first addressed local residents on January 6, 1959, to the Ernesto Che Guevara Sculptural Complex, which is home to the remains of Che and those of his comrades-in-arms in his guerrilla movement in Bolivia.
The march was followed by a vigil, organized by trade unions and students organizations, as tribute to the historical leader of the Revolution on the 1st anniversary of his death.
The homage paying actions included a recital by local groups and soloists, with songs and poetry dedicated to the revolutionary leader.
The artistic program included performances by singer Gustavo Felipe Remedios, trio ensembles Sedacero and Palabras, folk group Awo Ache, the Baila Cuba dance company, the vocal choir Musa, the Quinteto Criollo, Alejandro's orchestra accompanied by students from the Arts School.
