Havana, January 23 (RHC)-- Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo met Monday in Havana with the leader of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Mars Di Bartolomeo, who is visiting Cuba with a large delegation.
During the meeting, Lazo thanked the landlocked country in western Europe, for its traditional support for the Cuban cause against the U.S. blockade.
The top Cuban legislator also acknowledged the active role being played by the Parliament of Luxembourg in this new era of mutual trust and cooperation between the European Union and the Caribbean state.
Di Bartolomeo recalled that the Parliament of Luxembourg was the ninth out of the EU's 28 national legislative bodies to ratify the political dialogue and cooperation agreement reached between the European block and Cuba in December 2016.
During their stay in Cuba, the legislative leader and his delegation are scheduled to hold talks with Cuban Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca, and tour the Mariel Special Development Zone.
