Havana, February 5 (RHC) -- The Vice President of the Cuban Council of State, Mercedes López Acea, arrived Sunday in Cape Verde, the first leg of an African tour that will take her also to Equatorial Guinea, Ghana and Seychelles.
The tour aims to reinforce the historical and fraternal friendship ties and solidarity between Cuba and countries on the African continent.
Shortly after her arrival in Cape Verde, the Cuban official met with Cuban health professionals, who are offering their services there as part of existing cooperation programs.
Also on Sunday, the vice president of the Cuban Council of State was received by former President Pedro De Verona Rodrigues Pires.
Cuba and Cape Verde established diplomatic relations on September 5th, 1975.
