Cuba will attend the138th Session of the Inter-parliamentary Union

Vice-president of the parliament, Ana Mari Machado will head the Cuban delegation to the IPU´s session

Havana, March 24 (RHC)-- A Cuban delegation will participate at the 138th session of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU),  scheduled for March 24 to 28 at Geneva's International Conference Center.

The island's representatives to the event are the deputies Ana Mari Machado, vice president of the Cuban Parliament; Yolanda Ferrer, president of the Parliament International Relations Commission; Magda Ileana Perez, vice-president of the Commission on Industry, Construction and Energy, and deputy Rolando Gonzalez, vice-president of International Relations.

High on the Assembly's agenda is the reinforcement of the world regime for migrants and refugees, as well as the necessity for political solutions based on evidence, according to the Cuban Parliament's webpage.

The general debates of the Assembly will take place March 25 with the attendance of parliament presidents, while on March 27 and 28, participants will adopt the resolutions on the so-called urgency point and on other issues considered by permanent commissions, such as sustainable peace and sustainable development.
