Port of Spain, May 5 (RHC)-- The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador June Soomer, will participate in the Thirty-Seventh Session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the most important biennial meeting of the regional body, taking place from May 7th to 11th in Havana.
Prior to her departure to Cuba, the Cuban Ambassador met with the Secretary General, who expressed her satisfaction at attending this important event, and presenting the ACS contribution to the development strategies in the context of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
They also discussed progress in the ACS to its strengthening and revitalization, and Cuba's commitment to those goals, as well as exchanging views on various aspects of the links between the ACS and Cuba.
