Beijing, May 19 (RHC)-- A promotional event for this year's edition of "Cubaindustria 2018" –the most important forum of the Cuban industrial sector-- took place at the Cuban Embassy in the People's Republic of China, sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for the import and export of machinery and electronic equipment (CCCME) and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
In his opening remarks, Cuban ambassador to china, Miguel Angel Ramírez Ramos, briefed attendees on the development strategy of the Cuban industrial sector, as part of the ongoing process to update the Cuban economic model. He highlighted China's important role in this process, particularly in Cuba's industrial development.
The event at the Cuban embassy in Beijing attracted 75 representatives from 40 Chinese companies and entities linked mainly to the industrial sector, who were briefed on the business opportunities under the Cuban foreign investment law, particularly at the special development zone of Mariel.
For his part, Shi Yonghong, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, highlighted the high level of relations between the two countries, as well as the expressed willingness of both governments and business sectors to further boosting bilateral cooperation relations.
Cubaindustria 2018 will take place in the Cuban capital from June 18 through the 22. More than 2 000 entrepreneurs have confirmed their participation from countries like Russia, China, Argentina and Brazil.
