Santiago de Cuba, July 26 (RHC)-- Cubans celebrate today National Rebellion Day, established in honor of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks in the east of the island, on this date in 1953.
Santiago de Cuba hosts central activities in remembrance of that action, undertaken by a group of young people under the leadership of Fidel Castro.
The celebration of National Rebellion Day comes at a special moment for Cuba, marked by a change in the leadership of the State and Government, with the arrival in the presidency last April of Miguel Diaz-Canel.
