Havana, July 31 (RHC)-- The Communications Division of the Cuban Group Correos de Cuba announced that as of this Tuesday, July 31st, news-stands across the country would begin selling 32-page copies of the draft of the Constitution, at the price of one Cuban peso.
A press release by the Communications Division of Correos de Cuba, published in Granma newspaper, said the sale of the draft of the Constitution in tabloid format aims to facilitate people's full access to it prior to the public consultations, which are set to begin on August 13th.
Meanwhile, a national seminar on the upcoming public consultation on the Constitutional reform process concluded Monday. Participants in the seminar included provincial representatives of the Cuban Communist Party, the Young Communists League, mass organizations, the Association of Cuban Jurors, leaders of the Ministries of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Interior, authorities with the National Electoral Commission, the Center for Socio-political Studies and the country's Foreign Relations Ministry.
During the seminar, more than 280 participants exchanged with the committee of deputies charged with drafting the proposal debated and approved by the National Assembly of People's Power July 21st and 22nd, and which will be now submitted to public consultations from August 13th through November 15th.
Monday's final session of the seminar was devoted to ways on how the proposals, recommendations and comments by the people will be compiled from the more than 135,000 planned meetings to be held in workplaces, schools and community centers across the country. Meetings are also planned abroad, in Cuban consulates and diplomatic missions, so that Cubans residing in other countries also participate and have a say in the process to write a new Cuban Constitution.
