Havana, August 22 (RHC)-- Cuba on Tuesday finalized plans for the holding of the 22nd Pan-American Bartenders Championship, in which a new Guinness World Record will be attempted.
During the championship, to be held in Havana's Habana Libre Hotel from August 26th to the 31th, organizers hope to mix the world's largest-ever Cuba Libre cocktail, the famous rum and cola drink. Havana Club rum will be used in the making of the gigantic 550 liter cocktail, XINHUA news agency reported.
The president of the Cuban Bartenders Association, Jose Rafa Malen, told the press that bartenders from 18 nations will be participating, demonstrating their abilities while competing under six different categories.
Cuba has a long history in bartending. It was the first country in the world to have a professional bartending club founded in 1924.
