Brasilia, March 14 (RHC)-- Another 300 Cuban doctors arrived in Brasilia on Thursday to join the government program known as “More Doctors” and offer their services to the people residing in rural areas and outlying areas in that South American nations.
The doctors are part of a 4,300 medical contingent that will boost the government program in the capital Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Recife, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre and Vitoria, where they will first take a training course before heading for local communities.
The program director, Felipe Proenzo, thanked the Cuban doctors who will work in what is known as primary health care and he said that this new group will join the thousands of Cuban doctors who are working in 4,070 municipalities in 26 states of the country, plus the Federal District of Brasilia and 32 special indigenous regions.
