Havana, November 19 (RHC)-- The 29th Pastors for Peace Caravan of Friendship continues its tour of the eastern part of the island with a tour of the province of Santiago de Cuba, where they are meeting with local authorities.
Over the weekend, at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, the caravanistas paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and to Cuba's National Hero José Martí, as well as other heroes and martyrs of Cuba's independence struggles.
Members of the Pastors for Peace caravan visited El Cobre, on the outskirts of Santiago de Cuba, and toured the sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin of Charity, Cuba's Patron Saint.
The U.S. solidarity activists arrived in Holguin on Friday, where they began their visit to the island by touring the birthplace of Fidel Castro in Birán. They will also visit the province of Guantánamo, in the easternmost part of the Caribbean nation.
