Havana, February 13 (RHC)-- Granma newspaper recently published an article by Yudy Castro Morales tracing manipulation and subversion by religious institutions against Cuba for the last 60 years, aseeking to disrupt society relations with the state.
Morales notes that some religious institutions have been bolstered by the current Donald Trump administration, its return to the Monroe Doctrine, and increase in acts of subversion against the island.
The report cites actions by Teo A. Babún and his organization Evangelical Christian Humanitarian Outreach for Cuba, ECHO Cuba, to sow dissent and discord within Cuban society and revive the so-called Bush Plan.
Thenews paper warned of the extent of Teo Babún’s pro-imperialist activities as the country prepares to vote on its new constitution this February 24, which recognizes, respects and guarantees religious freedom. The article noted that some Protestant factions are supporting politically subversive and manipulative initiatives, designed to generate a ‘regime change on the island.
Meanwhile, Morales highlights that the majority of religious institutions in Cuba support the Revolution, unity, harmony and peace -- citing Fidel Castro when he noted that there is no contradiction between the aims of religion and socialism.
