New Cuban Permanent Representative to Caricom

Georgetown, March 26th (RHC) The Cuban Ambassador to Guyana, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, assumed his position as the new permanent representative to the CARICOM, Caribbean Community, as announced by the Cuban diplomatic mission in Guyana.

Yesterday, Gonzalez presented his documents of accredation o the Secretary General of CARICOM; Irwin Larocque. During the official ceremony at the organization's Secretariat headquarters, Cuba's contributions to other member nations in different spheres was underlined.

Likewise, Larocque ratified the irrefutable position of the Caribbean Community to reject the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the US to Cuba. On the other hand, the Cuban diplomat recalled the undestructible bonds that join Cuba with the Caribbean nations, and made it clear that they will always have Cuba's eternal friendship, gratitude and support.

Gonzalez also encouraged Caricom member countries to work for a successful Cuba-Caricom Summit, which will be held in Havana next December.
