Santiago de Cuba, Jun 19 (RHC--A tribute to National Hero Jose Martí, and the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the patrimonial cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, will be the first action of participants of the 16th International Trade Fair ExpoCaribe Fair, which is opening Tuesday with the attendance of more than 20 countries.
Some of the events at the opening day at the Heredia Theater complex of Santiago de Cuba, include a postal cancellation and the celebration of the 12th Business Forum of the Greater Caribbean, sponsored by the Association of Caribbean States (AEC).
On hand for the event are six ministers from Caribbean countries and the General Secretary of the Association of Caribbean States, Dr. June Soomer.
In statements to the press, Soomer acknowledged the cooperation and solidarity bonds between Cuba and sister nations, and how teachers, doctors, nurses and other professionals have been trained in Cuba.
“Cubans should know that the people from the Caribbean will always be by their side”, she said.
The ExpoCaribe trade fair that has held for the last time 11 years is being resumed with the participation of companies from the Eastern Cuban provinces from Camagüey to Guantanamo which will showcase their products for potential export contracts.
The event is the island´s second largest trade fair, and its goal is to promote economic and commercial exchange from eastern Cuban provinces with neighboring nations.
