Havana, April 24 (RHC) – Joe Bhatia, President of the Pan-American Commission of Technical Norms (COPANT), has described the work of Cuban professionals in the preparation of strategies for the operation of his group, currently based in Argentina, as “efficient.”

Cuba contributes to COPANT in many areas and its specialists are very efficient in propositions about far-reaching projects, he commented in exclusive statements to ACN. Bhatia also leads the National Institute of Standardization of the United States, based in Washington.

“We see dedication at all levels and the government is committed to the development of standardization”, he asserted.

The expert added that Cuba’s contribution is substantial and that this is one of the reasons why we decided to organize our General Assembly in Havana. The Assembly began sessions on Monday at the capital’s Hotel Nacional de Cuba and will close on Wednesday.

The aforementioned Pan-American Commission, created in 1949 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, brings together 35 nations.
