Havana, February 13 (RHC)-- Cuban Minister of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo, met Wednesday with Alexey K. Volin, Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.

The two discussed collaboration between the two governments on telecommunications, digital television, the Internet, and cybersecurity, Perdomo said on Twitter.

Moscow and Havana established diplomatic relations in 1902. However, they were interrupted in 1952 to be re-established at a much more important level in 1960.

The exchanges taking place between the two countries are based on the Declaration on the Principles of Relations between Russia and the Republic of Cuba, the Memorandum on the Principles of Strategic Cooperation, and the joint declarations on common approaches to international affairs, signed in 1996, 2009 and 2018.
