Benin's foreign minister will visit Cuba

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Benin, Aurélien Agbénonci,

Havana, March 6 (RHC)-- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Benin, Aurélien Agbénonci, will visit Cuba beginning March 7, diplomatic sources of the Caribbean nation have announced.

A press release from the Cuban Foreign Ministry informed that the African minister would talk to local authorities and carry out other activities.

Cuba and Benin established diplomatic relations in 1974.

Cuban and Beninese authorities explored ways to strengthen educational exchange after a meeting two days ago in the African nation between the Beninese Minister of Secondary, Technical and Professional Education Mahougnon Kakpo and Cuban Ambassador to the African country Yenielys Regüeiferos.

Benin has a population of nine million.  It has borders with Niger to the north, Burkina Faso to the northwest, Togo to the west, the Gulf of Guinea to the south, and Nigeria to the east.
