Cuba reports its 40th COVID-19 case

Havana, March 23 (RHC). Cuba’s Ministry of Public Health announced Monday morning five new cases of COVID. Three are Cubans,1 is French, and another one is Russian. All told, there are now 40 new coronavirus cases reported on the Caribbean island as of the morning of March 23.

 

Speaking on the daily briefing by the island’s authorities, Dr. Francisco Duran, Chief of Epidemiology at MINSAP added that 1036 people are isolated and hospitalized in observation. : Of the 1036 hospitalized, 531 are suspected cases.

 

Another 37,788 people are being followed up through home visits by primary care doctors and nurses.

 

Of the confirmed cases, three are reported in critical condition. Cuba has confirmed only one death related to the diseases.
