April 19 (RHC)—With the latest round of PCRs tests in Cuba, the Caribbean island surpassed on Saturday the number of 1,000 people testing positive to COVID19

In his daily briefing update on the pandemic on the Caribbean island, Dr. Francisco Duran, Epidemiology Chief at the Ministry of Public Health, said that with the latest 49 cases, the amount reached 1,035 positive cases.  Of those, 744 remain active.

The transmission case at a nursing home in Villa Clara, the expansion of massive screening among people with over 60 years of age, and the introduction of an online self-survey developed by the Ministry of Public Health together with the ministry of communications, were some of the issues raised by the epidemiologist on Sunday.
