Tegucigalpa, April 20 (RHC)-- The President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, expressed on his Twitter account his gratitude to Cuba, noting that 53 Honduran doctors who are studying various specialties on the island also joined the Cuban medical personnel.  He pointed out that in 2016, both governments signed an agreement that favors this collaboration.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, the arrival in Honduras on Sunday of 20 health professionals from the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics, for the confrontation with COVID-19, reinforces Cuba's internationalist tradition of our with the Central American country.

On his Twitter account, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez described this as "a new gesture of solidarity from Cuba, at a time when a global effort is needed to curb the pandemic."
