Washington, May 22 (RHC)-- The National Network on Cuba (NNOC) has demanded that the U.S. government end its campaign of disinformation to justify its demonic treatment of the Caribbean island.

In a statement released on the social networks, the coalition of organizations condemned Washington for taking the step of including Cuba on a list of countries that supposedly do not fully cooperate with anti-terrorist efforts.

Such action, the NNOC noted, is especially reprehensible in the midst of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus pandemic and the leading role that Cuba is playing in the global fight against the pandemic.

The statement recalls that the decision to include the Caribbean nation on the unilateral list was taken after the Cuban Embassy in the United States was cowardly attacked, and that the State Department made the announcement while the island's foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez, accused the U.S. government of its complicit silence in the face of the terrorist attack on the mission in Washington, DC.

If this attack had occurred in any other embassy in Washington D.C., there would have been a full-scale investigation.  Instead, the U.S. government issued a statement describing Cuba and other countries as terrorists in another falsehood to justify its vicious blockade against the Cuban people, denounced the solidarity network.

The NNOC stressed that Cuba has supported nations and people around the world by sending health professionals to help those in need in times of crisis, and historically has "offered a rational voice on a wide range of issues aimed at global improvement and world collaboration."
