Havana, June 7 (RHC)-- Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, thanked the National Constituent Assembly of the Republic of Venezuela (ANC) for its solidarity with Cuba.

Venezuela has condemned the government of Donald Trump for including Cuba "in an arbitrary, unilateral and unjust manner on the list of countries that do not cooperate in the fight against terrorism."

The ANC communiqué, signed by Diosdado Cabello Rondón, president of that body, considers Washington's decision to be unjust and describes it as an attack on the sovereignty and determination of the peoples of the world, an expression of that country's foreign policy that permanently violates international law and violates the United Nations Charter with the aim of creating conditions for new aggressions against the peoples of Our America."

Likewise, the constituents of the South American nation saluted the internationalist and humanist vision of Cuban diplomacy, highlighted the role played by Cuba and Venezuela in the consolidation of the Peace Accords for Colombia; and assured that the world will not forget the "solidary will of dignified Cuba in the face of the danger that the COVID-19 pandemic implies for the whole of humanity."

"The National Constituent Assembly ratifies its unwavering support to Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Republic of Cuba, and demands the cessation of aggressions against his people, endorsing the firm conviction to work for the unity of the peoples and the building of a better world," concluded the communiqué published by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

In a letter sent to his Venezuelan counterpart, Lazo Hernández said that "Cuba is a country that has been the victim of numerous terrorist acts -- organized, financed and executed from U.S. territory by groups and individuals who have enjoyed tolerance and government protection there."
