Havana, July 2 (RHC)-- As reported, based on the measures taken and the efforts of our people, all the provinces of the country, except Havana, are in the first phase of the first stage of post-COVID-19 recovery.
It is fair to say that we always knew that Havana would be the most difficult and complex place to face the epidemic, due to the characteristics of a country's capital.
The results of the work carried out have allowed us to appreciate in the last few days the progress made in the confrontation in the capital, to the point that seven days ago the established health indicators were generally met, even though some cases are reported daily, which is part of this process.
In view of this, the Government's Temporary Working Group has considered that compliance with the indicators makes it possible to authorize the beginning of the first stage of recovery in Havana, in its first phase, for which preparations are already underway.
The capital will continue to be the place where the greatest risks are concentrated, so Havana residents will have to enter this new phase with great responsibility and caution, in strict compliance with the established health measures.
On the other hand, the behavior of the first phase of recovery in the remaining provinces has been monitored, which we evaluate positively, verifying that the health indicators reached in these territories support moving to a higher stage.
Consequently, the Government's Temporary Working Group has decided to authorize the provinces and municipalities of the country to move on to the second phase of recovery, starting on Friday, July 3rd; with the exception of Havana and Matanzas, the latter province which will do so next week.
We call attention to the fact that, concerning the individual and collective behavior of the population in a responsible manner and on the successful compliance with the health measures, it will depend on continuing to advance in the recovery process, minimizing the risks on which, we are sure, we will continue to count on the support and understanding of our people.
