Havana, July 4 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted this Saturday the failure of the maneuver against Cuba carried out at the 44th Ordinary Session of the UN Human Rights Council.

"The truth about Cuba dismantles the tariffed lie," the president wrote on his Twitter account where he also pointed out that "the empire is clinging to the use of mercenaries and is once again failing."

Diaz-Canel shared on that social network an article published in the daily newspaper Granma which tells how Cuban diplomat Jairo Rodriguez responded the day before to comments made by Ariel Ruiz Urquiola in his attempt to denigrate Cuban international medical cooperation.

Rodriguez, a member of the Permanent Mission of Cuba in Geneva, headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council, said the accusations made by the citizen were false.

"What are those purposes?  We should ask the Miami-based propaganda machine, which has promoted a whole show on social networks and digital media based on totally false information, about this subject," the diplomat said.

He also denounced that the accusations of this individual, referring to his and his family's state of health, are not only absurd, but worthy of a bad fiction novel.

The newspaper also reflects that Ruiz Urquiola is a biologist and usufructuary of land in Viñales, Pinar del Río province used by the United States as an ecologist and defender of human rights in its maneuvers against the Caribbean nation.

He has a penalty for the crime of contempt and links with U.S. government representatives in Havana.
