Havana, August 6 (RHC)-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported  49 new cases detected yesterday of COVID-19, for a total of 2,775 positive cases across the island.  The new figure continues marking the growing trend of the last two weeks.

During his press briefing Thursday morning, Dr. Duran said no patients had died from the coronavirus over the last 24 hours, but he warned about the concerning uptick of positive cases, primarily from Havana and Artemisa provinces.

The expert cautioned that there is a noticeable increase in the diagnosis of minors and young people and said that 29 out of the 49 cases diagnosed on Wednesday belonged to those age groups.
