Havana, August 18 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has urged people to comply with the health measures to face the upsurge of the COVID-19 on the island.
The foreign minister said on his Twitter account that the contribution of the people in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the disease, is discipline and responsibility.
As of August 17th, 524 active cases were reported in Cuba as a result of an increase in the number of people identified with SARS-CoV-2.
In response to this situation, the authorities are working on increasing isolation and diagnostic capabilities, mainly in Havana, the most affected territory in the country.
According to the director of epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Francisco Durán, as of last Monday, 35 Cuban municipalities had COVID-19 patients.
